Ambassador Evans Welcomes Local Students and Scholarship Winners

On Tuesday, June 26, 2018, Ambassador Evans welcomed four local high school students to the U.S. Embassy, to congratulate them on receiving competitive scholarships to study and experience American University life in the United States.

Through the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship and EducationUSA Academy, the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Section will send four students on fully funded educational exchange trips. One young lady participating in the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship will represent Luxembourg at Wake Forest University. Additionally, three scholarships were awarded to Luxembourgish students to attend EducationUSA Summer Academies at University of Colorado Boulder, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Diablo Valley College (CA).

The impressive group of students visited the U.S. Embassy for a pre-departure orientation. Afterwards, they met with Ambassador Evans to discuss their upcoming educational experiences.

The Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship (BFTF) and the EducationUSA Academy are both overseen by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs.
