27945863063_4ed138dcd4_oOn July 26, 2016, Ambassador McKean and his wife, Ms. Kaye, attended one of the events which made up this year’s BGL BNP Paribas Summer School. The BGL BNP Paribas Summer School is held annually at their headquarters with the aim of promoting enthusiasm, passion, and entrepreneurship to Luxembourgish high school students. The message this year is, “Do what you like and do it well!”

The event consisted of a roundtable panel where Ambassador McKean and six other panelists were asked to discuss the idea of “Responsibility” within the context of governments, corporations, and individuals. The Ambassador was joined by Karin Schintgen, Director of RSE, BGL BNP Paribas; Marc Bichler, the Ambassador-at-Large for Climate Change; Gilles Rod, Director of the CNDS (Comité National de Défense Sociale); Sylvie Dang, Association HOPE; and Nicolas Deporter, Member of CA Friendship. The two-hour long panel, which discussed topics from climate change to social responsibility in the economic market to what these students can do to make a positive impact, was followed by a lunch where students were able to speak with the panelists on a more informal basis.
