Visa interviews are generally available on Thursdays (except Luxembourg and U.S. holidays). The applicant must complete a form DS-160 online and generate a barcode to have access to the Embassy’s online appointment system as explained in how to apply.
Applicants aged 14 – 79 are required to appear in person for an interview with a consular officer. When submitting an application for a non-present child, the parent should bring the child’s birth certificate or family book as well.
Applicants will not be admitted more than 15 minutes prior to the time shown on their appointment confirmation. To facilitate your entry into the Embassy we recommend reading our security notice and reviewing the list of prohibited items (e.g. laptops are not allowed on the premises and a person carrying a laptop will not be able to enter). Prior to the interview staff will collect the visa application fee, upload your photograph if necessary and review your application. A set of your fingerprints will be electronically scanned at the interview with the consular officer. If the visa is approved, the consular officer will keep your passport and mail it to you within a week (exceptions may apply).
